Get to know eSIM
What is an eSIM?
An eSIM is a digital SIM that connects some newer devices to STRATA's wireless network. Some physical SIMs are now being replaced by embedded SIMs — or eSIM for short. They’re blank SIMs pre-built into your device that download plans instantly, so unlike physical SIM cards, they never need to be swapped out of your phone or replaced — they update automatically.
Why use an eSIM?
An eSIM gives you more flexibility to manage your wireless plan and eSIM-compatible device. Besides being able to activate new phone lines in a fraction of the time, some eSIM-capable devices allow you to use two eSIMs at the same time (or one physical SIM card and one eSIM). A dual SIM also allows customers who use the same device for business and personal calls to maintain separate phone numbers on one device.
How do I use an eSIM?
When you purchase an eSIM capable device, your eSIM will be downloaded to your device over Wi-Fi. Your service will be the same as if you were using a physical SIM card.
How do I get started with my eSIM?
Please come to your nearest STRATA Networks location and speak with a customer service representative to start the eSIM process.
